Earth is estimated to be composed of roughly 8.7 million species, with only 1.2 million of those actually being discovered. Over generations, all of the species that are currently alive today have evolved unique traits that make them distinct from other species. Whether they’re plants, animals or microscopic organisms, each and every one plays a vital role in keeping the world's many ecosystems healthy, balanced and thriving. This precious and volatile structure has become severely endangered due to human activities, and without urgent conservation efforts, loss of species life could have detrimental effects.
